Global Digital Health Monitor Releases State of Digital Health 2024 Brief
The Global Digital Health Monitor (GDHM) released its State of Digital Health 2024 Brief in the lead-up to an exciting announcement at the 2025 World Health Assembly.
The State of Digital Health Brief is an analysis of select indicators from 2024 GDHM survey submissions of 47 participating countries across all World Health Organization (WHO) regions as an interim report leading up to a more robust State of Digital Health Report 2025.
In May 2025, we will complete the transition of the GDHM to the World Health Organization Data Hub, a pivotal move that underscores the Monitor's critical role in guiding health priorities and fostering collaboration within and across countries and regions. This shift positions GDHM as a tool for standardizing digital health frameworks, ensuring interoperability, and global monitoring of digital health transformation.
A foundational keystone of the newly launched WHO Global Initiative on Digital Health (GIDH), the GDHM helps countries to benchmark, prioritize, and monitor digital health progress at the country, regional, and global levels. The GDHM enables countries and regions to track their digital health maturity over time, advocate for resources, identify countries that are performing well to facilitate cross-country learning, and support private sector entrepreneurs and investors to strategically prioritize new market entry and strategies. The Monitor is available in multiple languages and includes dynamic visualizations by region and within countries for year-on-year monitoring.
